If you're one of those people who believe that Rollable Phone screen and tablets are indeed the future, but are not quite convinced about what's currently in the market, today fear not TCL has been experimenting with foldable bendable rollable display. Tech form factors and hinge designs in an effort to come up with foldable smartphones. That are durable practical and more importantly affordable.
In this blog we take a look at three exciting new foldable phone design concepts from rollable phone tcl we'll call them foldable clam shell the trifold hand the rollable. Each of these concepts are based on two basic hinge designs TCL has been working on the Dragon hinge forms an according like teardrop shape when folded while the butterfly hinge full shut without a presicevily gap it looks like this.


From behind also before we dive in TCL says that these designs may not come to smartphones anytime soon if at all they are merely experiments in progress the first one which we have here.
Is a cross between the rollable phone samsung that is Samsung Galaxy fold and Microsoft's upcoming dual screen surface duo it's a phone that folds horizontally like on the Galaxy fold but with much more screen real estate on each house its shape is reminiscent of a book it's a large 7.2 inch rollable phone tablets. There's no secondary display on the outside instead there you'll find all the phones cameras and lovely textured glass finish that makes it look like a multi faceted precious gem. TCL's trifold design was born out of the idea that rollable phone displays could be used for even larger form factors this concept uses both TCL's dragon hinge and butterfly hinge. It folds inward and outward allowing it to transform from a 10-inch tablet into a 6.65 inch smartphone.

It a chunky one it's the first time we've seen two separate hinges on a foldable when both are folded halfway this trifold concept device reminds us of a taco tray it wasn't really able to explore the many possible use cases as this is still a prototype but one can imagine a smartphone when folded a separate tablet when opened up this way and an even larger display when fully unfolded of course we've saved the best for less and all of these design experiments the rollable display is the most exciting.

We are still waiting for that smartphone that folds into a tube of lipstick which sounds some teased eons ago and we know the technology is there because we've already seen rollable TVs from LG and rollable phone lg for two years in a row this concept device from TCL is the first time we've seen a rollable screen on a smartphone the display is just 9 millimeters thin internal motors allow the display to extend from a 6.75 inch screen to a 7.8 inch display watch closely big screen small screen no hinges no folding just a rollable display tucking away into or under the phone and that was a quick look.
